Lander grew up in Boone, North Carolina. She earned her undergraduate degree in Education, English, and Social Studies from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and then immediately set out for Montana after graduation to begin her career in education. She taught 6-12th grade English, Social Studies, and Psychology in the Gallatin Valley while earning her Master’s Degree in Education from Montana State University. Hoping to influence the educational system further than the walls of her individual classroom, Lander transitioned into the wild world of Non-profit leadership, taking the helm at BBBS of Big Sky Country in 2018.
As CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Big Sky Country, she is excited to continue bettering the lives of our local youth and to build even stronger partnerships with youth-serving organizations and community leaders so that Big Brothers Big Sisters can ensure significant and long term outcomes for the children and families of the areas we serve. When she isn't at work, Lander can be found playing outside with her bloodhound or with her nose in a book.
