In January of 2025, the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Yellowstone County shut its doors. It was a blow to the Billings community as the organization had a thriving school and community based program serving hundreds of Bigs & Littles.
A Big Sister in the Billings program contacted our office asking if we would be able to continue supporting their match. She wanted to continue to see her Little Sister, but wanted to do so under the umbrella of the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. After approval from the national office, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Big Sky Country was able to contact the active community-based matches and offer to continue supporting them if they were interested. We are grateful for this opportunity and are happy to share we are now supporting some of the community-based matches. These Big and Littles can now continue building their relationships with the support of our office.
We hope that we can start enrolling new Bigs & Littles and making new matches in the Billings community soon. We know there is a need for this program and hope that with more donors, sponsors, and support we can continue to be a positive resource for this wonderful community.
