In the Community Program, we match volunteer mentors (“Bigs”) with youth(“Littles”). These matches spend time enjoying activities together approximately three times a month. During these outings, they cultivate a relationship that supports the Little in developing skills to manage everyday challenges and build self-confidence.
We serve any youth, aged 5-18, in our service area who could benefit from positive adult role model (hint: we think this is ANY youth!). A volunteer Big Brother, Big Sister, Big Couple, or Big Family becomes a friend to the child and the relationship is supported by professional staff at Big Brothers Big Sisters. Through simple friendship, Bigs experience the joy of helping youth discover a world of possibilities and opportunities.
